Millennium Challenge Account, MCA, for Mongolia: Cost Recovery Technical Assistance for Sustainability of Ulaanbaatar’s Water Supply System
The Millennium Challenge Corporation, MCC, and the Government of Mongolia have entered into a Millennium Challenge Compact for MCA assistance to help facilitate poverty reduction through economic growth in the amount of approximately 350 million United States Dollars. SaWa is cooperating in a Joint Venture with Cowater Sogema International Inc. Canada (lead partner) providing consultancy services for the Cost Recovery Technical Assistance for Sustainability of Ulaanbaatar’s Water Supply System Project. The consultancy team in the project area has started to work in November 2019. The objective of this project is to support the Water Services Regulatory Commission, WSRC, in identifying a tariff structure that addresses sustainability issues through a willingness to pay and affordability assessment. More specifically, the project aims to recommend appropriate options for structuring and delivering customer assistance and consumer subsidies.
